Today I did something I haven’t done in a very, very long time.  (Other than blog.  But now that, too.)  I bought a watch.  For the past several years I have used my cell phone to determine the time, which works but lately has involved a lot of digging around in the purse for the phone, and it’s getting cumbersome.  Also, it goes along with my latest obsession with doing grown up things – buying a car with more than 2 seats, and … ok, maybe that was it.  But a watch is a very grown up thing, as it keeps track of time in a convenient way (a very adult obsession), and involves accessorizing daily.  I have often aspired to accessorizing better, or well, at all.

I have in the past owned many watches.  In fact, I still own them – they’re at the bottom of my jewelry box, with broken straps or worn out batteries.  So I deduced that my breaks in watch-wearing was due to the fact that maintaining all those straps and batteries is a huge PITA.  I decided to find a watch that eliminated those pesky factors.  Which led me to an eco-drive (meaning solar powered) one with a metal strap bit.  I got this one at Costco:

Except the one I got has diamond-y accent bits on each side.  So I will wear it everyday, and be both stylish and punctual.  Cause these self-improvement projects always work out.
